now that the SDK rules are out, and any system improvement is out of the question, I’m thinking on partnering with an iphone developer for a jailbroken app.

it should work this way:

1. click and hold home button opens camera app.
   • overrides password protection
   • respects current UI guidelines
2. release home button shoots picture.
   • picture viewing respects password protection
3. optional: automatic photo sync
4. optional: metadata editing (i can write, eh?)
   • add title
   • add description
   • add tags… er, keywords
   • add rating

those are the software-only mods I think of that can make iphone a badass picture-taking machine.

if you go to overlapradio.com/style/electro, you tell wordpress to show the posts filtered by the electro category (the “style” is the category base I defined on options, permalink, just for cosmetic purposes).

thing is, i want to create the same thing for authors: so if I go to overlapradio.com/user/nicholas (no link, since it’s just an example), you tell wordpress to show the posts filetered by the nicholas author (”user” as category base).

this way, djs can promote overlapradio as their main URL, sure the visitor would see only their content. a win-win proposition.

no tricks here, huh? wordpress can filter by author, and I just want a fancy URL for it… does anyone has any tip?

this weekend I buckled up and finished a project on my drawers for a long time: overlap radio.

it’s a electronic music community… djs and collaborators post mp3 links of good songs, tagging by style. visitors can listen to the songs on the site, or subcribe to the style podcast.
.
for now, it’s in portuguese. I have a lot of good brazilian dj friends, and this project is supposed to be an agreggator for them - and an easy pitstop for good music for me, but hey, that’s what a dj is for!

I will eventually port it to english (and swedish, japanese, and whatever other language I see visiting often thru google analytics), but I’ll let it brew for a while in brazilian-time - there’s good traffic already, 15% of the incoming traffic is from stumbleupon.com, pure word-of-mouth.
