outlook on a mac
here at my work I’m forced to use outlook, even if on a mac. below my list of things I hate and love on it, compared with mac mail:
Things I hate in outlook:
- No bridge with address book app, it has it’s own contact book (like all microsoft apps, it doesn’t play well with others).
- the damned search only covers metadata (to, from, subject and two proprietary microsoft formats), it doesn’t scan the body of the email. just this flaw reduces my productivity in half. (searching who said what and when, for example)
Things I love in outlook:
- right preview pane, makes the layout how it should be: group, subgroup (titles), message.
- write a message, command+enter and a reassuring swoosh tells you the message was sent.

about smashing perfectionism
somehow I can’t edit my posts after published… which means I can either stop blogging altogether, or adopt a post-and-forget attitude…
.
at my workplace (near union square) right now.good steady job, nice people.

back on track
hey, long time no see, huh? First off, I’m turning off this del.icio.us feature (you can still visit my del.icio.us/nonlinear page) and I promise to be more attentive to my blog.
.
a lot of things happened this year, already. I left 2005 and my old job in soho - the creeps fired me on the phone, 7 days before xmas, no severence pay, nothing - and got started the year in a new job, in union square. probably you won’t see much of my results there - a lot of intranet work - but at least I’m out of inane flash microsites and back to the html world, catching up with CSS, etc.
.
paying? a lil’ bit more. good. organization, way better (the former company was just a bunch of kids with money, addicted to adrenaline but no attention to quality). that means I can plan my days (I used to work 10, 11 hours a day) and do my own stuff. personal life, y’know?
.
in the end, this transition was kinda magic… fast, unpredictable and contrast-full, the way I like reality to be. this will def be a good year.

lazy sheep
thanks to the lazy sheep bookmarklet, I’m finally populating my del.icio.us account.
.
since now i’m hopping between my personal and work computers (and a treo that got caught in the way, tnx to my brother), it’s time to organize my stuff online, instead of locally.
.
I’ll see a way to add my last links as posts, all the wordpress solutions I found till now are not my style… I’m thinking of something like kottke did.

template madness
I created a new template for my blog but when I tried to adapt it to the WordPress interface, I got stuck.
.
Damn, this php into php into php just confuses me.
.
maybe if I find a basic template and adapt it… because look at my dear blog with this dreary template hurts my aquarian sensibilities to the bone.
.
update: I learned how to create a template, and adapted already. it’s cuuute, c’mon! :-) I still have to change the comments area, tho.

its alive!
I just merged my 2 blogger-blogs in this one…
.
ok, the template is default, and I still gotta configure the categories (the reason I left blogger), but it’s kinda done.
