in no time I managed to backup my blog (it’s almost a decade old, people), upgrade to 2.3, replace all categories to tags, and add a beautiful tagcloud on the header.

that’s it my folks, gone are the categories, and welcome proper tags!

yeah, this blog has been off for a while… I confess twitter and google reader stole my digital soul, but it’s time to buckle up and get back to where I belong. The name of my new project is my blog is my garden.

What to update

• tags, tags, tags galore. categories. tag clouds too. Luckily it’s native on the new wordpress.
• no more next or back links. instead, infinite scrolling. the more you want, the more you’ll see.
• let’s bring the title tag to the 2.0 era: qtip converts any html attribute into tooltips.
• instead of throwing visitors out when showing videos, a videobox solution.
• for the drawings i’ll be adding, a nice zoom feature.
• for all my digital life outside the blog, an accordion sidebar with:
  • my rants (latest twits, and link to my twitter page)
  • news I like (my latst shred items, and link)
  • my pics (random pics, and flickr link)
  • latest songs (latest song list, link to last.fm)

One step at a time.

I found the twitter + quicksilver integration and got the gist of it, now i’m sharing my thoughts under twitter.com/nonlinear.

problem is, my blog becomes an image repositorium… I still want it to be the master conduit of my digital life, so I thought of incorporating twitter on it… kinda, for each new post, I attach - peripherally - my tweets from the last post date to this post date. and so on.
.
but i still have to find a cool sleek sloution for wordpress… I don’t want my tweets all splashed on the page, because I rant a lot and don’t want to be known as a curmudgeon. :-)

i remapped my blog from blog.nonlinearmatters.com to blog.nonlinear.cc and wordpress decided to resend all my RSS feeds…
.
so if you subscribe to my blog, you suddenly received more than 100 feeds all over again, as if a ghost of me haunting you.
.
sorry about that! it won’t happen again! (and tnx for the subscription!)
