a new materialism

turns out this materialistic age wasn’t about things at all, but obsession with symbols : if the thing doesn’t match the idea, we toss it out, eager for another.
.
the idea of how things should be, of course, is carefully orchestrated by a media cabal of body hatred.
.
the new materialism: taking care of your own things. take your body with you.

stochastic differential

.
stochastic differential by Betatester.
.
yesterday i ran an anime marathon, watching the last 5 episodes of ghost hound, an anime about syncronicities, OBE, spirits and stem-cell research, among others. And activation of the pineal gland.
.
sadly, the last episode - "stochastic resonance" - i had only in japanese original, so I couldn’t finish it.
.
today, I got stuck in the traffic, and that’s the book right in front of me.

shaking the tree

I moved to brooklyn with friends for a change. After more than one year sulking about the death of a relationship, I feel way happier now. let’s see where it leads me and wish me luck.

my digital squirrel

Because our digital shadow grows exponentially and more and more we can be attacked on this field, I decided to summon a familiar to help me out.
.
My familiar is a squirrel that orbits my neck rapidly (think firefox logo), and it’s always eager and curious. The idea is that pairing with an open system like me, but built with a complete different structure, we can help each other to survive on this information rain.
.
It uses my cellphone (or any database nears him) as a storage point (nuts!) and shelter.
.
Touching on anything, he can grab information about the structure, based on traffic data.
.
Powers:

  • Timing: Playing with packets, my squirrel can cause turbulence.
  • Debug:
  • Traffic Analysis: a basic “Who’s your daddy?” query, difficulty based on the secrecy of the system.
  • Power Surge/Randomizer: Randomize a system, from small chaos to utter collapse. Force outcomes (good or bad) on stale systems. Shaking things.
  • Detect Hub/Triangulation: Basic detection to find power islands and scan the field. Used to Mute/Surge Network and Packet Weather Forecast (find best spots to work on).
  • Befriend Encrypted Packet: Used for Two-Tiered Communication.

inside-outside mental list

It woke up at 5 am today with a complete list of outside-in and inside-out emotions. It was so clear on my mind, that I decided to write it down.
.
Joy may look like outside-in, but only happens if the inside-out allows it.
.
Horniness is easily triggered by outside-in. After that, the inside-out sets the tone.

Time happens simultaneously: subatomic particles pulse in sync, and can only be disrupted, creating pockets of time.
.
Karma is a rapid feedback from inside-outside. Backpropagation.
.
Trauma is an inside-out reaction to previous outside-in events. It pulses and triggers karma to relive personal dramas. Understanding how trauma irradiates and negotiates events to happen - because it looks so outside-in - is one of the greatest mysteries: just watching its flow delivers great insights.
.
Backpropagation is kinda like a system self-regulation.
.
Stress, like horniness, is easily triggered by outside-in, activating a chain of events inside-out. Easily addictive, at least in our society.
.
Peace of mind is a time/karma disruptor, a constant inside-out force. Triggered by acceptance.
.
Acceptance is a complete inside-out program, triggered when the outside-in transmits signs of a safe/stable environment. It may the be opposite of stress: although you may have none, acceptance can’t flourish in a stressful environment, and stress’ chain of events is hindered by acceptance’s time disruptors.
.
Beauty is when outside ressonates and gives form to an inside process. Outside-in and heavily sought, because it brings acceptance.

too clear for comfort

rushkoff as always, nails it:
.
Realistic simulation (…) applications across the full spectrum of human storytelling may be a symptom of our society’s continuing devaluation of anything that can’t be understood on a literal level. It’s the same trend that’s replacing fictional television with “reality” programming, interfaith dialogue with intolerant fundamentalism, feel-good patriotism with strident nationalism. There are no symbols, just real things.
