a message to marketers

this was a google reader note but I decided it was too good so I reposted.

Internet is a two-way, dialog media. marketers insist in one-way, monolog discourse because they want control. It won’t fly.

Information consumes attention: the more information we have, the less attention to share. Interruption is the new pornography.

We’ve seen what you did to mass media: eating it from the inside and leaving out a bloated corpse. thanks, but no thanks.
